So we have a few cruise ships that call on the Port of San Diego. I captured the largest one yesterday evening as she pushed her way out the channel. This is Princess Cruises' Grand Princess and she is BIG. At 113,000 tons she is heavier than a Nimitz-class carrier.
That's a LOT of buffets!

I can't begin to describe the envy your posts invoke in me.

What an incredible view you have! I would probably spend most of my time watching ships if I lived there.

In addition to the buffets, try to imagine what is involved in processing the human waste for that many people in an enclosed space.

Can't disagree with you, there. :-/
Beauty for these vessels does not figure into the business model, unfortunately. Also, they are very, very tall at 195 feet which makes their proportionality all funky.

God, yes! They were sleek and stunning and so, so elegant. Basically everything they are not today. The SS United States is a great example to use.
